XI Week 22

Year XI Week 22, a photo by DarrenNunis on Flickr.

XI Week 22 28/5-4/6/20

Posting this a month late. We've gone back down into lockdown again, and wile I still can leave the house for work, I tend to do that as little as I can.

Here's another one from the balcony... crazy to see double rainbows. More soon.

XI Week 06

XI Week 06 6-13/2/20

Again I'm a month behind on posting, but I've got it all lined up for the next few days. I should be up to date by early next week.

Here's one traffic stopper on a glorious sunday morning! More soon.

X Week 04

Year X Week 04 21-28/1/19

Caught this at the crack of dawn. There's something so serene about seeing these balloons take flight and float across your room window.

I guess it's lucky my air conditioning has died, I would not have been awake for this (especially on the weekend) if it was just so uncomfortable to sleep. Win some, lose some. More next week.

Rainy Days and Mondays - The Carpenters

Still sick and it rained most of the day, which is kind of perfect weather for doing nothing other than watching the cricket and sleeping. Ahh the life!

Anyway, looked out of the window and saw this view, with the dark clouds looming and thought that this was probably a waste of a perfectly good weekend, and it's a Monday tomorrow as well... great. More tomorrow.

Impossible - Shontelle

Managed to stay awake long enough to write this, but then again it's not that difficult considering I'm all a buzz with excitement because my team Spurs just broke a 17 year hoodoo and beat their north London rivals Arsenal!

Went out tonight, with camera in tow. Was ready to take some party shots, when I turned my camera on and... there on the screen were the 2 words photographers hate to see - No Card!

How in the world I forgot to put the card in is beyond me. I've been carrying the camera religiously for the past 323 days, and today I forget to put the card in.

So I get back home without a shot to show for the day. I turn to my go to shot and take a night shot of the rooftop next door from my balcony. And in my joy, I also added the Spurs logo. So shout it from the rooftops people "C'mon you Spurs!" More tomorrow!

Mine - Taylor Swift

Quick post tonight. I actually uploaded the photo about 4 hours ago, but fell asleep while it was uploading and now at 1 am, I am too sleepy to spill my heart out.

So on to the shot. It's another balcony shot of one of the many restaurants, function areas and bars along Albert Park lake. HDR'd and a bit of tilt-shift effect. More tomorrow.

Duck Walk - Genesis

Been meaning to take a shot of the swans on the lake crossing the road. It's funny because they cross where and when ever they want and traffic comes to a complete stand still. And it's not like they walk straight across either, it's sometimes a case of 2 steps forwards, one step back. I've been stuck in the swan crossing before, with camera in hand, but I've never been the first car, so I've never been able to shoot this up close and personal.

Anyway HDR'd and cropped to actual size. One day I'll get a face-to-face with them.... More tomorrow.

Getting back before the sun sets is a nice thing. Got home from work was looking out from my balcony and just taking a few shots. Here's one of them I really like. HDR'd of course. More tomorrow.

Looking Out My Back Door - CCR

Real foggy morning today. Got up and it was just a sheet of white. Couldn't resist a 3 exposure HDR shot. I know it's another Balcony shot, but I'm thinking HDR is going to give me a 2nd go with a lot of shots. Will do a more "studio" shot tomorrow... I hope.

American Pie - Don McLean

Had a bit of bad news today. I couldn't believe they axed the 2 morning drivetime DJs on my favourite radio station - Classic Rock FM. Dicko and Dave, a former music exec/Idol judge and a comedian, are 2 old foggies that really make my morning commute.

OK that maybe a really lame tale so that I could do this shot, and you maybe right, but what the heck.

Got up this morning and it was pouring. Looking out the balcony I see a whole buch of people still on the lake sailing. Sailing? In this weather? You have got to be committed!

Anyway, I get back from doing my regular morning stuff, and I see this lone sailboat just sitting there. I guess if they waited that long in the water (my morning stuff does take a fair while to do), then the least I can do is photograph them.

I kinda of like how the branches frames the boat, More tomorrow.

Another balcony shot of some club house at Albert Park. I was hoping to get some nice reflections off the water, but the wind was blowing quite strong so the water was a bit choppy. Anyway that's my excuse. More tomorrow.

104/365. 14 April 2010

These past few weeks, I've been sleeping on the floor, and my whole back is now really hurting from the neck down to my lower back… so today, I've pulled out the futon and am comfortably resting on my front as I write this. (Why i did not do this sooner is another story altogether). Anyway all this sob story is about my choice of shot for today. And I will get there soon.

Over the past few months, I've come to realise that the number of shots I take daily on any subject usually comes up to 17. It's not like I plan it or anything, it just works out that way - 17.

Today however I got this shot in 5. And I'm glad because the very second I decided to end the shot, the lights in the stadium were turned off. That and the fact that my back hurts as hell every time I lean over to look through the viewfinder are to be blamed.

Back to the shot. This is set on 28mm at F12 for 30 seconds and is a shot of some stadium across the road. Look closely, you can make out the name of the stadium. Hope you like it. Till tomorrow then.
