I have a large back catalogue of shots that I really liked but never got down to posting. So here are a few of them. Here's a composite from a while back. More tomorrow.

Took this a while back at The Melbourne Athenaeum Library. Can't remember the last time I set foot in a library before that, however I did go to the State Library of Victoria the very next day. When it rains, it pours! More tomorrow.

Can you believe it's only 60 days till X'mas and 65 days till 2015?
Out early in the morning to try and beat the crowds at the South Melbourne Markets... but I think 9am on a Sunday isn't early enough. More tomorrow.
Been thinking about what I should do next year for my 365. Whether to continue, to change it up a bit or to give it up altogether. I'm starting to lean on a shot a week something like this... with a bit more composite work. Maybe something more elaborate and requiring much more time than 24 hours to put together. I don't know... we'll see. More tomorrow.

Still haven't made it to Hosier Lane to get a shot of a building-sized graffiti of what apparently is my face. So, here's something else from Hosier Lane. More tomorrow.

One from Birrarung Marr and Deborah Halpern’s two-headed Angel sculpture. Love the name of the place and the sculpture... it's so uniquely Melbourne. More tomorrow.

Trying to go to bed earlier these days, but that's really not happening... anyway, here's one from the top end of Collins Street. More tomorrow.

A carriage ride in the city on a lovely night, seems like an ideal way to spend an evening in Melbourne... unless of course, if you're stuck behind said carriage while try to get to dinner on time. Still it's only one horse power. More tomorrow.

I thought a black and white was in order today. Having reached one million views on Flickr overnight, I was delighted to find the milestone had come about 10 weeks early.
I had initially wanted to finish my fifth year of 365 on the million mark, but now I'm undecided if I should go on for another year... will I have 10 weeks to decide, and maybe I and can get some sleep then. More tomorrow and thanks again for viewing.

Fast approaching the million views on flickr and I'm thinking this might be a sign to end my 5 year sojourn into a shot a day. Then again, it's become habit and you know how hard those are to kick. We'll see. But for now, I'll see it out till the end of year 5.
Here's one I took the other night in Melbourne, on Swanston Street. More tomorrow.

Just put this together... All the electrics were in place and waiting for the neck to arrive, which it did today. Took a couple of minutes to set the neck and a few more to string, intonate and tune. So here's my new Fender Jaguar. Sounds cool, but I really need to get my head around the pickup switching. More tomorrow.
Strobist info: Shot on black paper with a Sony HVL F60M with a soft box, on half power about 5 feet directly above the guitar.

Here's a rare view of Swanston Street, the Melbourne University end, oddly enough from one of the open spaces at another university, RMIT. More tomorrow.
Quite an eventful day today... Apart from walking around South Melbourne during the day, we also made a side trip to a not too distant suburb to buy a house. And at auction no less, and we were the last ones standing. Success! It's not everyday you get to say "buy" at close to a million dollars... even if it's not your money!
So you can understand why my camera hardly saw any action. So here's something from the back catalogue. Somewhere in the city on a lovely night with the iconic Melbourne tram approaching. More tomorrow.

Out for dinner in Footscray tonight; to a little Malaysian restaurant called Roti Road. And if you're ever there around 8pm, they put on a roti twirling show that's pretty spectacular. Here's one of the roti chefs spinning the dough. More tomorrow.

Warmish night tonight... not too warm that it's uncomfortable, but just right enough to have some dinner and drinks outside. More tomorrow.
Thursday, October 9, 2014
OK This will be the last of the front and back... although I do have quite a few more in the bag. This isn't as sharp as I'd like it, and you'll notice if you're pixel peeping, but it's good enough I guess. More tomorrow.

Shot this yesterday, and it took a bit of work to get the final image. I had the final image in mind when I was shooting it, so it was just a matter of getting the front and back shot right. The whole process turned out to be quite fun to do. I might try it on others I shot. More tomorrow.
At the Elucent Skincare National Costume Launch for the Miss Universe Pageant (a bit of a mouthful).
Was a really long day, but it paid off with a some really good shot. Here's one of the models as she shows a really great dress. More tomorrow.

Early start tomorrow, so my camera's all packed away and besides, I spent most of the day lazing around. So here's one from Singapore during JLo's concert.
I have to admit, it's a rare site to see only one camera up in the air. Mind you I love to shoot at concerts as well, but when you throw selfie-sticks into the mix, then it's like looking through a sea of antennae with an illuminated top from every vantage point. Still, you can't have it all. More tomorrow.
It's been a really beautiful Spring day. The sun was out, people were every where, all you wanted to do was to put up your feet and relax.
Here's something I took in Singapore that captures the sentiment. More tomorrow.

277, a photo by DarrenNunis on Flickr.
Been uploading shots from the trip to Singapore, and now I have a backlog of photos that'll probably take all night to complete.
Anyway, here's one from the Peranakan (Straits Born Chinese) Museum. More tomorrow.

Very late post... here's one from the concert last night. Ladies and gentlemen, The Mavericks. with Raul Malo and his Orbisoneque voice stealing the show. More tomorrow.

Took this yesterday before boarding the red eye back to Melbourne. Am posting this at the end of what seems to be a really long and eventful day.
Landed at 7 am, unpacked and did some housework by 10, grouted the bathroom floor by noon, did laundry by 2, went out for dinner and watched 3 bands play with my old friend Tom... So yes it's been a really busy 24+ hours. More tomorrow.
