211 - 29/7/12
Day 2 of Melbourne Open House, but we kind of missed everything. Got caught up with food and drink and a bit of poor planning, but it was nonetheless fun.
Anyway, today's shot is of Central Wharf in Docklands, with a glorious rainbow finishing up just at the top floor of the building.
Will start posting stuff from Melbourne Open House once I get done processing them. More tomorrow.

210 - 28/7/12
Day 1 of Melbourne Open House 2012. Did a fair bit today, more than we've ever done in fact. Mind you while the photo ops were less than before... apparently you can't take photos in Government Buildings anymore... the knowledge gained of the buildings in the city, was invaluable.
Anyway, here's one not on the list of this year's open house. It's one of the buildings in RMIT's campus, which in another life was the Magistrates' Court. Pretty intimidating I must admit. More tomorrow.

209 - 27/7/12
The city at night. At one of the the busiest intersections in town. It's a mess I tell you. Just a non-stop stream of cars starting and stopping and starting and stopping, mainly stopping. And this is at 10.00pm. More tomorrow.
Thursday, July 26, 2012
208 - 26/7/12
Here's the last of the cityscape shots from Albert Park Lake. This time, you can even see the Shrine of remembrance on the right. More tomorrow.

Tuesday, July 24, 2012
206 - 24/7/12
More nightscape shots of Melbourne from Albert Park. This was taken from the spot that I usually lookout to from my balcony... meaning, you can actually see my place from the photo. More tomorrow.
Monday, July 23, 2012
Out in South Melbourne for dinner with my Mom, who's just come for a visit. Took this of the old South Melbourne Town Hall. Haven't done a Black and White in a while, so I thought this would be cool. More tomorrow.
Sunday, July 22, 2012
203 - 21/7/12
A week to Melbourne Open House, and I thought I'd better get the wide angle out and give it a good work over. Kind of like a test drive... mind you I wouldn't be shooting at night without a flash or have a tripod handy (I will bring a tripod, but I rarely use it).
Anyway, here's a Southie's view of the city from Albert Park Lake... with a 10mm lens on a 30sec shutter speed. More tomorrow.
Saturday, July 21, 2012
202 - 20/7/12
It's 3 am and I haven't shot much today. So here's one of Jo, one of our reps from a while back. Time to get some sleep. Good night. More tomorrow.
Strobist info: 2 Elinchrom Dlite 4 on either side of Jo about 3 feet away on 2 (lowest).
Friday, July 20, 2012
It's late, been working all night and it's a school night, so this will be short. More silhouette and Bokeh worked in photoshop. More tomorrow.
Thursday, July 19, 2012
200 - 18/7/12
Surprising what happens when you invert some bokeh... it's wild!
Anyway, here's a composite shot - background from the lights of Saint Kilda Road (Inverted) and the foreground from a while ago when it was much warmer and legs were barer. More tomorrow.
Strobist Info - HVL F42AM with Lumiquest SBIII on full about 4 feet above the thighs. And a YG 460 with diffuser sock for fill, camera right.
Wednesday, July 18, 2012
199 - 18/7/12
More photoshop play. This time, I was going for an infrared kinda look without the creepy skin tone. So here's Anon, doing her best Gangsta, and instead of a piece, it's a portable hard drive. You make do I guess. More tomorrow.
Strobist Info: HVL F42AM on 1/2 power with a Lumiquest SBIII Hand held camera left, 3 feet away from subject.
Monday, July 16, 2012
198 - 16/7/12
Saw an old 60's ad for Formica today, and really wanted to replicate it. So here's my attempt.. Mind you what Bokeh and Formica have in common baffles me, but it was a really cool image. More tomorrow.
Strobist Info: One SB900 Speed light on 1/2 power just above and out of shot with a Lastolite reflector to soften the light right in front. The rest is a composite of fairy lights and photoshop.
Sunday, July 15, 2012
197 - 15/7/12
On an afternoon trip to the markets today, I saw this little rainbow wind vane on the top of one of the stalls. Just liked the colours. More tomorrow.
196 - 15/7/12
More play with photoshop and bokeh. Composite shot of background - a single light bauble from a streetlight; and a profile shot from days ago. More tomorrow.

Thursday, July 12, 2012
194 - 12/7/12
Been a really busy week, haven't had the time to go out and shoot anything, but here's something I just took.
Playing with bokeh tonight. Nice and simple, with a hint of HDR. More tomorrow.
Wednesday, July 11, 2012
193 - 11/7/12
Playing with silhouettes today. Admittedly, I went overboard with duplicating and overlaying of the bokeh background (3 times I think)... but I do love those baubles of light. More tomorrow.
Tuesday, July 10, 2012
192 - 10/7/12
Can't believe it's only Tuesday, it seems like it should be Friday already... maybe it's just wishful thinking.
Anyway, here's more from the night of the new moon... in brilliant HDR and some photoshop magic. More tomorrow.
Monday, July 9, 2012
191 - 9/7/12
Another from the 200-400mm lens. Here's Carousel, which is a restaurant/function space clear across the lake from my place. More tomorrow.
Sunday, July 8, 2012
190 - 8/7/12
Out at the markets this morning and took this of a the buskers there. Apart from being really good musicians, I thought the drummer/percussionist was also pretty cute. More tomorrow.
Saturday, July 7, 2012
189 - 7/7/12
Busy day today. Working on the weekends is really no fun at all. Anyway things have to get done, so such is life.
Here's a shot I took with the 200-400mm. Makes mw think of Tron. More tomorrow.
RIP Paul Ponnudorai.
Thursday, July 5, 2012
187 - 5/7/12
Forget about shooting early, I've got a 200-400 lens now. If you recall yesterday, I didn't prioritise well enough and sought to get my internet connection fixed before taking a shot of the new moon.
My 200-400 lens came today in the mail, voila, problem solved. So here's the moon again but this time much much bigger. More tomorrow.
Wednesday, July 4, 2012
186 - 4/7/12
Really brilliant moon out tonight. It was huge when I was driving home. However, by the time I took the shot it had got significantly smaller... that's because I had to deal with my ISP and an internet connection failure first. Which meant speaking at length to an overseas tech support person... oh joy.
Anyway, problem solved now. Shot taken with my wide angled baby and there you go. More tomorrow.
Tuesday, July 3, 2012
185 - 3/7/12
Time for some camera porn, here's my new 10-24mm lens. And yes we are very much in love. More tomorrow.
Strobist Info: HVL F42AM with Lumiquest SBIII bouncing off the ceiling from about 3 feet away, camera left.
184 - 2/7/12
A bit of photoshop play today. Took what looks like a curtain of bokeh, but without any foreground shot. So who better to feature than Brooke. More tomorrow.
Strobist Info: One SB900 Speed light with a soft box on full power from about 8 feet away, camera right.
Sunday, July 1, 2012
183 - 1/7/12
A couple of hours to go before the finals of Euro 2012. Can't decide who I want to win more. Not so keen on the Spanish, and then again neither am I on the Italians... I still have about 6 hours to decide.
On to today's image... Didn't go up country today, rather, this was from yesterday at the new warehouse. This is a view of what's next door to the warehouse, in HDR and a bit of tilt-shift. More tomorrow.
182 - 30/6/12
Happy financial New Year's Eve. Been up for 40 hours in the last 48 hours and am really feeling it right now.
Anyway this morning after 3 hours of sleep, I found myself at our new distribution centre at work. Took quite a few shots with my new 10mm lens, mainly for work, but really loved the way this one turned out. I new that with HDR this would POP! More tomorrow.
