This in the heart of the city today. There was this veggie patch display outside of the town hall and all these sparrows had come out to play/feast among the foliage... quite cute really. More tomorrow.

A recoup Sunday today. From the night before's frivolities and crowd, a very relaxing and lazy Sunday was in order. Lunch at South Melbourne and drinks at South Wharf, and then time for an early night... hopefully.
Took this at the markets, this one-man band busker walked along the stretch of the markets, strumming his guitar and "wired" to his drums. Good entertainment for all. More tomorrow.

Last night's festivities included a stop at a very popular (aka crowded) ice cream/gelato place called Gelato Messina.
While the picture may not show it, it was full of customers and quite a few idiots who only decided on what they wanted when they reached the counter and pondered for a long time. Not that they didn't give out a detailed menu while we were in line.
Still the gelato was divine, mine was a pandan and coconut sorbet on a crispy waffle cone... pure heaven. More tomorrow.

The one thing I didn't need to do today was to walk in uncomfortable work boots a size too small for a good part of the morning. Followed by a trek up a mountain (ok hill) and then down a 40 degree decline... not after Saturday's marathon standing session at the concert.
Still it was pretty spectacular shooting the start of a new and massive construction site, and to see the very happy faces of the owners.
Anyway, I took this while we were climbing the mountain (ok hill). More tomorrow.

Best concert ever! Went to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band tonight. He had Eddie Vedder as a guest and Tom Morello as his 3rd guitar slinger!
Most importantly, he treated us to a very rare performance of every song from the Born In The USA album.. every song. How rare is that? And how lucky were we. More of the Boss tomorrow; I've spent almost 9 hours on my feet today and they are screaming in pain.

Fires going on all over the state, and there's this haze that has set upon Melbourne. However, today's detour on my way back home was ironically caused by a burst water main. Go figure!
I was stuck next to this monster of a vehicle for a good 20 minutes in really slow traffic. My regular route home would have been much worse I suspect. More tomorrow.

Took this yesterday along St Kilda Pier. Another old man who looks like he's been swimming in these waters for years.
Really liked how he looked like he was just staring out into the pier contemplating life, that or he could be just be doing something else. More tomorrow.

Out to St Kilda Festival, or what we thought was going to be the Festival... turns out it's now compressed to a Sunday, as opposed to the whole weekend in the passed. So we ended up walking and drinking the length of St Kilda, including the pier.
Took this of this old fella who looks like he's part of the pier, plus this pose just reminds me of the little mermaid somehow. More tomorrow.
