If Looks Could Kill - Transvision Vamp

To fill the void of a lack of True Blood this week, because of the Labor Day holiday, us outside the US have to get our fix elsewhere.

Here's Fiona again doing her best vampire pose. Actually we were taking a few portrait shots and the vampire posing usually rounds up the shoot.

Anyway, I did bit of HDR and some Guy Gowan magic to get to this stage... Grrr. More tomorrow.

Heartbreak Hotel - Elvis Presley

Took this again in South Melbourne. While HDRing this, I was really surprised to see it dates back to 1867. Considering Melbourne is celebrating it's 150th birthday this year, this hotel was built just 6 years after the cities birth. Wow.

Don't really know what it's like inside, but it does look a tad dingy, then again this weather makes everything look dingy, but I'll make it a point to go in there one day and see if the publican can shed a bit more light on the building's history. Other than that, it's really been a dreary day, and no matter how much photo filtering I did to the sky, I can't really mask the grey skies. Oh Spring why has thou forsaken us? More tomorrow.

Where the streets have no name - U2

Wet, rainy and downright dreary... good for sleeping in and really good for HDRing cobblestones.

Took this shot while doing the weekly grocery shopping around the South Melbourne Markets. Took quite a few more shots around the area, but along with great looking cobblestones, the dreariness also brings terrible skies for HDRing. You can't have it all. More tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

Light Up Ya Lighter - Michael Franti

Another slow shooting day. Didn't get to take much photos because for the first time in 346 days, I was without my camera... Left it on my table and walked out of the house. Can you imagine my sheer terror when I opened my camera bag at work to find that my camera was not there. Sends chills down my spine just thinking of it again.

Did a clear out of my camera bag just to make sure that I did not put it into the front pocket or accidentally left it in one of the 3 memory card holders (I was also getting a tad paranoid) when I found these. 5 lighters! I had 5 lighters, 2 flashes, 4 lenses, a whole lot of gels, but no camera.

Anyway got back home to find it sitting safely on the table, pulled out the 5 lighters (none of which still work) and shot 'em. HDR and Guy Gowan retouched 'em and viola.

More tomorrow.

This is Spinal Tap - Spinal Tap

120 days to go to finish My 365... woah!

OK quick post today, am running late... anyway here's my shower tap, HDR'd of course. It sits on the wall and has been the source of many a back injury. It sits halfway up my back and if you turn too quickly, it's prongs are there to give your spine a good stab. Maybe it's just me... more tomorrow.

Satin and Lace - Roger Daltrey

First day of spring, but it really doesn't feel like it. Anyway, here's a shot of a really lovely pair of slippers, well a slipper to be exact. This was taken at the end of the work day. Had my camera and flash with Lumiquest SB III, and just took a few shots. Of course HDR really brought out the texture of the lace and the sheen of the satin. I also like the definition of the pants material.

That's about it for me today. Will post more tomorrow.

My Little Machine Track - Sonny Boy Williamson I

Last day of winter! And as I was taking this, hand held, and shivering my ass off, I was hoping I had brought my tripod down with me. That's my excuse for the somewhat blurred shot today.

Today's shot is at my new go to place, the car park. This is of a little scooter that sits in the corner, again I figured the concrete and the different textures on the scooter would really come to the fore in HDR. More tomorrow.
