Just playing around with a new flash I bought, so this is taken with 2 flashes. One from Camera left and another from behind the tubes.
BTW, these are tubes for Hairscience which is made by Ego Pharmaceuticals. My sister swears by them and many a hairdresser has been amazed at the hair texture of other people I've got to start using them.
These tubes have a lovely pearl finish to them and the labels had been scraped off for use as a mock up for another product. Still I love the milky look of the tubes and decided to shoot it.
Oh and the bokeh background was from another shot I took months back, photoshop did the rest. More tomorrow.

Thought I might revisit something I did a while ago, with an added touch. Those of you who follow may recognise this as a Chapteh, This time I shot it while falling.
Shot with a flash camera left set on a 2 second timer

This is a Daim. A bundle of delicious chocolate surrounding a honeycomb centre, and a whole lot of yum. I think you can only get this at IKEA, so it must be what Swedes do when they want a sugar fix.
Tonight was supposed to be my first night in my own room, but the damn air-conditioning guys really messed up. In short shoddy workmanship, and I mean crap. Anyway that's it for me today. Besos baby.

There was a time before the internet, before playstation, Wii and console games. And during that time, we found pleasure in this game - carom. it's played like pool except it's on a wooden square board with 4 holes and in place of cues, you use your finger in a flick motion to hit the shooter (a larger flat disc) to hit the seeds (smaller flat discs) into the holes.
Takes me back to my teenage years, where I'd spend hours playing this over homemade tea, shared cigarettes and Van Halen on the radio.
Got this Carom board from a colleague who knew where to find one. Bless him!
Still I'd settle for my Intenet connection to come back!

Today's shot was taken in the office. Had to get permission from Fiona to use this shot (you met Fiona on Day 29 and Day 91). She had a great pair of Emerald earrings on, so I had to shoot it. The tighter shots didn't pan out so well, but this wider shot turned out stunning!
Also have a shot that didn't quite make it, but was nevertheless cool. You can see it here in my Not 365. This makes it the 2nd time Fiona has bumped this guy off My 365.

Today's shot is a simple one. My friend Evendrani gave me this dry, shrivelled chilli and even though there were a lot of photo ops today, this turned out to be my shot of the day.
And yes, yet again I've waited till the last moment to do my 365. Anyway more tomorrow.

News of the destruction of my room in Perth was a bit overstated. Apparently, carpets were wet, and there was very little water damage, so I think the guitars and the camera gear and Beta Masters survived. Still have to be there to confirm this for myself, but the news is promising.
Anyway, today's shot is of a gun, a toy one... duh, like I would really show you a real gun. I think the not wanting to show a real gun, stems from years of working in advertising in Singapore. And showing a gun in an ad is a definite no no.
Flash through softbox at 1/32 power just out of shot. See you tomorrow.

Wow it's been a long weekend, and not in a good way... OK violins.
Back to today's shot. These are my favourite pair of shoes, they look like football boots, but they are actually sneakers... wow I hear you say.
Today's shot was a simple setup. Shoes on my Djembe, propped up by a few of my paint tubs. Flash was set to 1/16 power, camera left through a softbox about 4 feet away. More tomorrow.

Today's post is inspired by all the talk of ACDC that's been going around since Thursday. So I whipped out the Les Paul Custom Special, set the camera at the headstock, focused it around the 9th fret, set the flash with softbox to 1/16th power to the right of the camera about 4 feet away, and clicked. 23 shots later, viola!
It just reminds me of those music videos where they attached a camera to the headstock, in fact didn't they do that for Thunderstruck?

Just found out that 7 pictures are missing from my flickr My 365 page! What the? I'm a bit pressed for time, so here's today's shot. That's my trusty flash unit hanging from a clothes rack with the help of my Gorillapod. Background is courtesy of the lights of the building opposite. Till tomorrow then.

Here we go. Today's a simple one, lighting with a softbox above my little Djembe. The drum is about 8cm in diameter and 15cm high, and it's a gift from where I work.
Anyway that's it for today, I know it's a short one, but you know what, I really like the little light above the drum... sweet.

I can't believe it's been a month since I started My 365. That's 8.49315% of the way through. I'm not complaining... yet. It's been a lot of fun and a great learning experience.
Today's shot features one of my guitars, it's a Takamine GS-334 with a combo of Fishman under the saddle and Baggs under the bridge transducer pickups. And it has brass pins to boot. Beautiful sound. Shot it with the lights of the apartment opposite, in the background and then I flip the image 90 degrees clockwise.
What lens?
Need I say more?

For the past few days I've been harping about my newly acquired Rokkor 50mm lens, well this is the lens that my Rokkor lens is replacing. This 50mm is an autofocus lens, about 25 years younger and fully compatible with my camera. And by all accounts a damn fine lens. It's been my go to lens and now, I've gone and left her for a cougar. I've traded this young, nubile lens for one 3 times her age. I've forsaken simplicity for complexity... I'm ranting, I know.
I'll shut up and sign off. Till tomorrow then.

People this is noontec, noontec these are people... ok done with the pleasantries. This is the remote control to my new noontec media player. It has LAN, all the stick in usb, media card thingys, and once I stick a hard disk in there, it'll record as well. How cool is that? And all this for under $100. Thanks Zazz, and thanks Mitch for introducing me to them (and sorry I didn't get your solar-powered ipod charger, it took a while to sign up).
I know this shot is a bit "adverty", but that's what I do in my day job, and you know, sometimes I can't help but bring my work home. But thanks to a white bed sheet, a freshly cleaned table, a kick-ass flash and some photoshop, it looks pretty pristine.
That's it for today, I have to get back to my new friend. New episode of Fringe is on.

This is a 1L bottle of POM that Yvette bought yesterday. Cool bottle shape, but pomegranate juice... are you serious? And because I'm into design and the like, I really found the packaging interesting, so it was imperative I took a shot of it.
Shot was done with the help of Yvette holding the backdrop aka white towel, Camera with a 50mm at F1.7 on a 10 sec timer with a wireless link to my flashgun directed at backdrop.
