A little tribute to the last Star Wars Movie. It seems like a lifetime of waiting to see the end of a story that began when I was 10-11 years old. It was perfect. More very soon.

Still on some of my favourite shots from this year for my shot a week. Here's one of Larkin Poe, excellent roots/blues/rock band originally from Georgia. The sisters put on one heck of a show during the Singapore grand Prix this year, and I became an instant fan. More soon.

X Week 46
Been very slack with the photo taking these past couple of weeks. I think once I get back from work after a day of shooting in the studio, it's hard to get motivated to pick up my camera and go out. So, what Im posting in place will be some shots that I wanted to post, but had passed the shot a week date by several weeks or months. Here's the legendary fire dancers from Taiwan during the Singapore grand Prix. More soon.

X Week 45
I thought my last post was going to be the last of the USA photos, but apparently not. Didn't manage to take any shots for myself for the past couple of weeks, so here's one from my last hours in the US. On the way back from Vegas to Melbourne, with a few hours layover in Hawaii... Waikiki beach was the natural place to go and kill some time. More soon.

X Week 44
Although these shots were taken a week earlier, I was suffering from a case of camera fatigue after the trip.
Anyway, this was taken at Caesars Palace at Journey's residency at the Colosseum. What a concert, what a band and what a voice. Also loved it when the usher says "Don't stop believing" as he collects your ticket. More soon... faithfully.

Took a bit of time to curate all the photos from eh US trip, so I'll be posting my favourite ones on a shot a week for the month of October. Hopefully we'll all be caught up by next week.
Here's one from the beautiful Waikiki beach on the morning of Day 1 of the trip. More soon.

So glad i brought my wide lens for this one. The scale of The Jewel is incomprehensible... you really have to see it to believe it. This is my 2nd trip to the Jewel since it opened in March, and it's still amazing. I must try to get there at night for the light show and see how that turns out.
Anyway, here's the vortex/waterfall at the Jewel taken from the top floor, looking down as the sky train moves people from the terminals. All in 14mm wide! More soon.

Here's the obligatory shot from the Grand Prix. I usually do a Daniel Ricciardo shot, or a single car close-up, but this time, because of where we were sitting, i thought the shot of the first corner at race start would be much better. You can see more race shots in my Flickr album. More soon.

X Week 37
Got a month of posting to catch up on. Finally got through my Singapore photos and have now whittled them down to one favourite from each week. So over the next few days, I';; be posting several shots to catch up with my shot a week.
This was taken from the rooftop bar of the National Gallery of Singapore. I probably have hundreds if not thousands of shots of Marina Bay Sands, but it's one of those iconic buildings that you just can't stop looking (or shooting) at in amazement.
Here's a panoramic shot of the Marina Bay skyline. More soon.

Last of the Vietnam photos... possibly. This was taken hours before the 25 of August, but it was too good to discard. Saw these dancers at the Sailing Club next to the Intercontinental Resort. The food, drinks and service at the Sailing Club was beyond exceptional, and the fire dancing is just the icing on the cake. There are more shots from the place in the Phu Quoc Album on Flickr if you want to see more. What a great work conference and lots of magnificent photo ops. More next week.

Another from Phu Quoc. This time it's from the world's longest cable car. This was from above one of the islands that the cable car crosses. This lone fishing boat, with the fisherman on board (if you look closely enough), thought it would make for a great tilt-shift shot. More soon.

Got to spend my birthday weekend with this little monster and her brother (I suspect the both of them will make an appearance in next week's shot). Hours of endless fun and no batteries required. Took this at the Montalto winery in the Peninsular. It rained most of the day, except for this little break in the weather, so it was perfect to get the wide angle out and have some fun. More next week.

At the Melbourne Aquarium, manage to get tonnes of shots that day, but I had to work much harder for this one this one I had to really work much harder for. I had to set it up against the glass and wait till I got the right shot, as the penguins swam around in their pool. More soon.

The Jewel at Changi airport. This enormous structure is the new attraction at the Singapore Changi airport. In middle is this huge waterfall falling into a large vortex with a 3 or 4 storey vertical garden. I'm not surprised if it's the largest of its kind in the world. And surroundings this are lots of retail and food shops. It truely is amazing, and a good reason to get to the airport early. More next week.

More from our travels. This time it's the Portuguese Settlement in Melacca, Malaysia. Apparently the Church across the red house has been around since the 1700's, and not far from here is a fort that dates back to the 1500's. It was really a spiritual (and gastronomic) experience going to our ancestral roots. While a trip to Portugal, might be on the cards... to visit the motherland, so to speak. More soon.

Been a very eventful week. Had a late night almost every night of the week and in most cases, had my camera with me. I decided to do a black and white this week, because I haven't done one in quite a while, and this was a good chance to get the pristine white of the new Esplanade contrasting a black sky. More soon.

Caught this at the crack of dawn. There's something so serene about seeing these balloons take flight and float across your room window.
I guess it's lucky my air conditioning has died, I would not have been awake for this (especially on the weekend) if it was just so uncomfortable to sleep. Win some, lose some. More next week.

Took this in a bar on my first night back from holidays. Just needed to hangout and do something other than get ready for work the next day. So a good feed prior, classic rock music and a game of pool was the exact tonic for the post holiday blues. More from the tennis soon.

X Week 01
This is the first one of the year and already a week or so late. Trying to start the 10th year on the right foot, didn't really work out as smoothly as I wanted it to. However, as I've long found out, it's better to post late than not post at all.
Took this in Perth outside the Cathedral on a warm Saturday night in the city. Festive lights were still aglow, and everybody was still in party mode. More soon.
