As you can tell, 1000 days. Really wanted to take this shot on the new Sony a99, but alas it still isn't in stock. I have spent a whole lot of time thinking about what to shoot... Some strobist stuff, maybe a bit of bokeh, something old, something new, a bit of light painting, HDR, so the answer was yes. Here's to another 1000 days... or at least to the end of the year. More tomorrow.
Strobist info: HVL F42AM with a defuser sock, on the jeans, about a foot over the camera and about about 3 feet behind.

This just came in today. My new telecaster. Used to have one many years ago, actually belonged to my dad, but that got sold years ago, and there's been an empty feeling till today. Can't wait to start playing it now. More tomorrow.

9 more days till I hit 1000 days doing this shot a day thing, and I'm cracking my brain trying to think of something to shoot to commemorate the day. It is just another day, but I do think 1000 days is something to celebrate. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Today's shot is another one of the birds that stop over outside my window every Spring day. Here's one right at the close of day. More tomorrow.

Got my shot of the day not 6 hours into the day. Was up really early on a Sunday morning and when I looked out, I saw the balloons flying across the lake, this time they were landing. Pulled out my beercan lens with a 2X converter and snapped.
In hindsight, I should have pulled out the 200-400 f5.6, but by the time I set up the tripod, I feared the action would have been over. Next time, I'm setting the big fella up on a Friday night, just in case. More tomorrow.

They buried an old friend today. I didn't make it to the funeral, but I thought remembering him with some of the funny things we liked. So here's one for you my friend... I know how much you/we liked women in boots.

Got this from my mom from a holiday in Hawaii. A pretty little ukelele that has problems holding its tuning but nonetheless quite fun to play. Wanted to get that sun burnt feel from this picture, I stuck a HVL F42AM into a Lumodi Beaty Dish and held it about 3 feet above the ukelele Camera right. HDR completed the rest of the look. More tomorrow.

Went nuts with my available flashes the other day. So here's my 3 flash set up for the shot. I had 2 Yongnuo speedlights on full, bouncing off the ceiling from either ends of the bed. A HVL F42AM with a Lumiquest SBIII at the foot of the bed directed at the flying feet. All shot in a dark room. More tomorrow.

First day of Spring and i was up at 5.30, in time to catch these hot air balloons taking off and floating away on to their destination. There were about 8 that took off in the hour. I was lucky enough to have my 200-400mm on the tripod so it was shooting galore... About 200 shots later, I thought this was the one I liked most. Lots of negative space. More tomorrow.

Last day of winter and the birds are out to play. This little sparrow was just outside the window and I couldn't resist a shot with the beercan lens at 210mm with a 2x extender.
