Day 2 of Melbourne Open House, but we kind of missed everything. Got caught up with food and drink and a bit of poor planning, but it was nonetheless fun.
Anyway, today's shot is of Central Wharf in Docklands, with a glorious rainbow finishing up just at the top floor of the building.
Will start posting stuff from Melbourne Open House once I get done processing them. More tomorrow.

Day 1 of Melbourne Open House 2012. Did a fair bit today, more than we've ever done in fact. Mind you while the photo ops were less than before... apparently you can't take photos in Government Buildings anymore... the knowledge gained of the buildings in the city, was invaluable.
Anyway, here's one not on the list of this year's open house. It's one of the buildings in RMIT's campus, which in another life was the Magistrates' Court. Pretty intimidating I must admit. More tomorrow.

A week to Melbourne Open House, and I thought I'd better get the wide angle out and give it a good work over. Kind of like a test drive... mind you I wouldn't be shooting at night without a flash or have a tripod handy (I will bring a tripod, but I rarely use it).
Anyway, here's a Southie's view of the city from Albert Park Lake... with a 10mm lens on a 30sec shutter speed. More tomorrow.

Surprising what happens when you invert some bokeh... it's wild!
Anyway, here's a composite shot - background from the lights of Saint Kilda Road (Inverted) and the foreground from a while ago when it was much warmer and legs were barer. More tomorrow.
Strobist Info - HVL F42AM with Lumiquest SBIII on full about 4 feet above the thighs. And a YG 460 with diffuser sock for fill, camera right.

Saw an old 60's ad for Formica today, and really wanted to replicate it. So here's my attempt.. Mind you what Bokeh and Formica have in common baffles me, but it was a really cool image. More tomorrow.
Strobist Info: One SB900 Speed light on 1/2 power just above and out of shot with a Lastolite reflector to soften the light right in front. The rest is a composite of fairy lights and photoshop.

Forget about shooting early, I've got a 200-400 lens now. If you recall yesterday, I didn't prioritise well enough and sought to get my internet connection fixed before taking a shot of the new moon.
My 200-400 lens came today in the mail, voila, problem solved. So here's the moon again but this time much much bigger. More tomorrow.

Really brilliant moon out tonight. It was huge when I was driving home. However, by the time I took the shot it had got significantly smaller... that's because I had to deal with my ISP and an internet connection failure first. Which meant speaking at length to an overseas tech support person... oh joy.
Anyway, problem solved now. Shot taken with my wide angled baby and there you go. More tomorrow.

A couple of hours to go before the finals of Euro 2012. Can't decide who I want to win more. Not so keen on the Spanish, and then again neither am I on the Italians... I still have about 6 hours to decide.
On to today's image... Didn't go up country today, rather, this was from yesterday at the new warehouse. This is a view of what's next door to the warehouse, in HDR and a bit of tilt-shift. More tomorrow.

Happy financial New Year's Eve. Been up for 40 hours in the last 48 hours and am really feeling it right now.
Anyway this morning after 3 hours of sleep, I found myself at our new distribution centre at work. Took quite a few shots with my new 10mm lens, mainly for work, but really loved the way this one turned out. I new that with HDR this would POP! More tomorrow.
