Anyway, thought I'd post this shot from a week ago, it's Christmas eve this time and all the kids are just waiting for the clock to tick over to midnight, so that they can open their presents. Playing with droplets this morning. Had the camera set to multi shots and a fresh set of batteries in the flash which was soon to get drained. Really all that was missing was a tripod, which I will get sometime soon for Perth.
Anyway really like this shot just as the droplet falls. More tomorrow.

As I post this, I'm glad to announce that the end of the world was a hoax, it didn't happen and all is back to normal.
Had our work Christmas party today, and here are just some of the decorations that were on display. Mind you those cardboard trees and reindeer were close to 2 metres high and they were all hand cut without any online template. You could almost say they were bespoke. More tomorrow.

We've been resisting putting up Christmas decorations in the studio, mainly because we're a bunch of lazy so and so's. But along comes the new girl and bam we have fairy light, baubles and streamers all over the studio... very festive indeed.
Here's a shot of the fairy lights with little plastic stars. It's really quite nice. Thanks Mags. More tomorrow.

Not exactly super sharp, but I reckon it's sharp enough considering it's a gull in full flight. I thought the 200mm F2.8 is still pretty fast and sharp, and I really do like it. Wondering what other old minolta lenses are out there that are as remarkable as this one. More tomorrow.

Went for janaese today. Not from this place with the tepanyakki chef, but a few doors down at a quaint little and a lot less showy Japanese restaurant. I couldn't resist taking a shot of the more showy restaurant though, just wished I'd caught a shot of the burning flames as well. More tomorrow.

Out at St Kilda this evening and took this shot of a boat that looked very different from any other boat in the harbour. Gone is the white hull and white masts, this was black. Out today at a Sony Masterclass at Fed Square. Was a good 2 hour session about Sony cameras, and a good 30 mins of shooting around the area.
Took quite a few shots today, and I suspect I'll be posting quite a few from the day's shoot. Here's one of a really good street performer that had the crowd of about 100 in his hands during his show. More tomorrow.

There are few iconic sporting venues in the world that can match the MCG. Before moving to Melbourne, the G always held this sense of awe and wonder. Now that I've been to the stadium, nothing's changed. I still get tingles every time I see it. 100,000+ capacity, 100+ years of sporting history... you get the picture.
I took this from the rooftop car park at Fed Square. Might get back there at night when a game is on and take a shot under lights. Should be grand. More tomorrow.

Had to do a loop of the city today. And what a lovely day it was. Ended the loop with a quick shopping trip in South Melbourne.
Anyway I took this while waiting for the lights to change under a bridge with the sun at full bore just beyond. Lighting conditions were slightly challenging, but not for my new baby. Did I say I love this camera? More tomorrow.
