Today's shot is a simple one. My friend Evendrani gave me this dry, shrivelled chilli and even though there were a lot of photo ops today, this turned out to be my shot of the day.
And yes, yet again I've waited till the last moment to do my 365. Anyway more tomorrow.

Another walkabout Southbank shot. Well not so much of a walkabout than a walk to the shops to get smokes and then a walk across the street to get the shot.
Anyway, decided to play with the tilt shift effect so here goes. Really like how the cars and trees look almost toy like.
BTW, this is the Malthouse Theatre, a little quaint venue, I believe, because for the 4 and a bit years I lived next to it, I've been there 3 times and I never got further than the bar.
Have a nice night. See you tomorrow.

Check out the crowds and the lone car going around the corner. Feels like a Where's Wally picture everytime I look closely. Till Tomorrow then.

What a day. And what a race. Today at the Melbourne Formula 1 GP I had one of the best seats ever.
Anyway, here is today's shot. The Qantas fly pass is always a highlight. There are other shots from the day in my Not 365, I'll try to upload more race shots in good time.
But for now, it's sleep time. Good night all.

Spent most of the day at the new place, getting it ready for the big race tomorrow.
It's a bit sparce, sans furniture and a need for some minor repairs and new carpets; but at least the view for the race is out of this world.
Bet there'll be more F1 shots tomorrow. Anyway here's the shot of the day, a Ferrari in full flight. You can see a few more here, here, here and here in my Not 365.

Meet Chrissy and Kat again. You met them on day 15.
Today at work, we had The World's Greatest Shave. This is a charity project to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.
There were 15 brave and benevolent souls that put their hands up and offered to have their head shaved, hair coloured, and in some cases both.
Chrissy and Kat are two of these great people who put their hands up, and I was lucky enough to colour both their hairs.
You can see the whole crew that volunteered here in my Not 365. That's it for today. See you tomorrow.

Funny thing happened today, and kids heed these words - Keep your parents away from Facebook, Tweets, Blogs and even Flickr. I got a call today from my Dad and he goes "Where did you get the gun from?" (Silence) OK for the punchline, look at yesterday's post.
Anyway, today's shot was with the beercan lens. Flash right above in a Glanz 17x17 softbox. Photoshop did the rest. Tell tomorrow.

News of the destruction of my room in Perth was a bit overstated. Apparently, carpets were wet, and there was very little water damage, so I think the guitars and the camera gear and Beta Masters survived. Still have to be there to confirm this for myself, but the news is promising.
Anyway, today's shot is of a gun, a toy one... duh, like I would really show you a real gun. I think the not wanting to show a real gun, stems from years of working in advertising in Singapore. And showing a gun in an ad is a definite no no.
Flash through softbox at 1/32 power just out of shot. See you tomorrow.

Today's shot is a pano of the view from the balcony of the new place. Still not livable until insurance get their act together, but what a view!
What's worse, just heard more bad news that my hometown of Perth has been hit by serious flooding and Dad is living by candlelight tonight... I'm worried. Plus the last I heard, my room in Perth is flooded badly and I guess a lot has been lost.

Well at least I didn't wait till the 11th hour today. I took this shot at work. I clicked on the beercan lens, pointed the camera skywards (or at least ceiling-wards) and snap.
Today's shot is of the lighting fixture at work. No it's not blown, it's just me playing with the white balance to get the colours. Tomorrow then.

Meet David Slattery, he's our IT Manager at Ego Pharmaceuticals. He and his team keep my Mac running smoothly, so he's good. Plus he's also a nice guy.
This shot was taken yesterday in his office. The office has the afternoon sun shinning through, and when you draw the curtains, it makes for a great illimunated white backdrop. I didn't do much digital cosmetic surgery, just used my ring flash and played around with my interpretation of the Dave Hill effect. Really think this shot has a lot of character. Till tomorrow then.

Today was supposed to be the day we were fully moved into our new place. The storm kind of ruined that, but blah lah blah.
OK today's shot, yet another sunset from the balcony. I like the colours and love the shape of the clouds. I also like the specks of street lights and the Merc insignia lighted in the corner.
I did have another photo lined up, but alas I left it at the office. Might post it tomorrow, depending on how it all goes with the shot of the day. Tomorrow friends.

For those not familiar with this, its a Lion Dance Troupe. Usually seen during Chinese New Year and opening of businesses, the Lion Dance is supposed to ward off bad luck and bring fortune... I think.
Anyway, I was at the Melbourne Food Fest this evening, and they had a lion dance show on, got to admit, its been a while since I've seen one.
Today's shot was just some of the shots of the Lion Dance. It was a simple point and shoot. Did a bit of vignetting in photoshop to get look. Till tomorrow then.

This is Ian, my cousin, on his new bike. I think it's a KTM RC8. It looks pretty schmick, there's an element of Transformers to it.
Spent part of the afternoon taking shots of the bike going round on relatively uncrowded streets of Port Melbourne.
Anyway, here's one of the 200+ shots I took during the day. Photoshoped of course to bring out the colour of the bike in contrast to the Black & White background.

Went to a musical instruments warehouse sale today. It was really busy and lots of great deals were to be had. I was tempted at the guitar section several times. Tempted once at the drum section, another 2 times at the bass section, 4 or 5 times at the amp section... you understand. Anyway, I came away a couple of hundred poorer with the purchase of a new guitar pedal (like I really need another), cables, strings, fingerpicks and a bag full of these - guitar picks.
Well I figure after the week I've had, a little present for me was in order. Anyway there's another day to go for the sale, and if I do pop in and find that guitar I was eyeing... who knows.
Anyway, today's shot is of the bag of picks arranged in a circle. Simple.

I'm sure you've seen my Djembe before... it's a really big one. It's actually been used several times in My 365 for a platform, stand or holder. It's been used so many times, but never for what it was actually made for.
So for today's shot here's the Djembe in action. Exposed for 8 or 10 seconds (I can't remember) at F18. Besos.

Posting this a bit late. Was at the new place today, our move is in limbo, and told to wait at least 2 weeks. Insurance... need I say more.
While waiting for one of the assessors to come, I saw this in the building next door. Had my 28-300 lens so zoomed in on this guy. A bit blur I know, but I didn't have my tripod handy and it was a bit breezy as well... excuses, excuses. Hope you like it. Till tomorrow then.

Meet my coin bowl. Initially it was meant to be a piggy bank for a 2nd hand telecaster. The idea was to put in a $2 coin everyday in 2009 + change, but only $2 coins though.
I don't really know how much is in there now, but there's a bit over a year's worth... I think.

Hope today's shot isn't too distressing... not because of the needles, but of my leg of course.
Here's my right knee and ankle getting a much needed treatment of the acupuncture kind. It felt so much better... thanks Jaq. it happened when I had to evacute the building on Saturday (9 floors) and from all the lifting and painting over the 2 days prior, it really did my knee in.
Did I say thanks Jaq? You're a lifesaver.

Today was heartbreaking. Seeing the hole in the ceiling, the soaked carpets, all the painting gone to waste... was hard to bear.
Today's shot, I took this as the rain began to fall again. I have to admit I was a bit fearful, but what can you do. Anyway this was taken through a little gap in the balcony door of the railing, as raindrops fell on it.
There's another interesting shot that didn't quite make it. You can see it here.

What a day! Been busy painting the new place for the past few days, and just as I was finishing off the downstairs area, the heavens opened up. A really big storm overcame Melbourne. Bad news, the roof started leaking and pretty much all the hard work has gone to waste. Even had to evacuate the building, so I haven't seen the full extent of the damage.
Anyway, today's shot is of the hail that came down. You can see a few more of the flooding and ice here and here in Not 365.
On a different note, there's 300 days to go, hope none of them turn out like today though!

Just as the previous day's post was the first of many, today is probably one of the last from my current balcony. Cop out I hear you say, sorry, but it's been a long day, and the Welly gave up nothing photowise.
Today's shot was taken with my prime 28mm 2.8, set to 30 seconds on F5. And of course it sat on my made in Japan, super retro, heavy as hell, Topman tripod.
House painting tomorrow!

Bubble wrap is god's gift to procrastination... just one more row to pop I hear you say.
Simple set up today. Used my beercan lens, the 70-210mm F4 with a ring flash and snap 22 shots later we have this. Colour is courtesy of a red filter and playing with the white balance set to 3200K (I think). Besos baby!
